Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to Common Queries

Virtual design planning and consulting utilizes technology for remote application. Rather than consulting on-site, our consultation questionnaire collects the information necessary to embark upon the planning phase of your project.

Unlike traditional design practice, we do not facilitate the project through to completion; rather, we deliver a comprehensive and custom crafted blueprint for all that is needed for you to implement your room redesign.

Design planning features a custom compendium of all that is needed to realize your room redesign: a personalized color palette, a design concept and style, floorplan and furniture layout, and a catalogue of direct links to your specially sourced pieces.

Design consulting takes a backseat approach to design planning. Rather than administering the details of a project plan in full, we are available for guidance on an ongoing project or assisting with ideas on an upcoming project.

Virtual design can be a cost saving approach over traditional design services. Rather than employing the full time services of a designer to facilitate your project from consultation to installation, your design can be implemented in your own time and on your own budget.

A project-specific fee estimate is proposed with consideration to the scale of your project per review of your completed consultation questionnaire. Estimated fees are based on the estimated time to complete.

For more information, see our estimated fees here.

The design fee covers design planning and consulting services only.

We do not facilitate the project through to installation; so, the fee does not cover costs related to design implementation such as materials, delivery fees, nor costs related to assembly, installation, and renovation as applicable.

For all its benefits, virtual design is not for everyone. If your preference is that a designer be on-site to oversee your project from conception to completion—to order materials, work with contractors, and place the decor—virtual design is probably not for you.

Virtual design might be for you if your preference is an approach less people-y, less costly, and with more flexibility. Your design plan can be implemented in accord with your schedule and budget, all at once or in phases as you have the time and can afford. Depending on the project scope as well as your prowess, willingness, and desire to people, it can be done DIY or with an assist from a local professional.
